Dr. Yona Lee is a distinguished and licensed Acupuncturist with extensive experience in the field of Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Korean Medicine. Academic and Professional Background Yona's academic journey is marked by a dedication to both traditional and modern medical practices. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine from Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, where she specialized in a combination of Chinese and Western Medicine. This foundation was further enhanced by her practical experience in a hospital setting in China. After relocating to the United States, Yona pursued advanced studies, earning a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine and a Transitional Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from the Pacific College of Health and Science. Additionally, she gained international exposure as an exchange student at the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine, where she earned a National Diploma of Acupuncture. Professional Certifications and Licensures Yona is a NCCAOM-certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.), and holds acupuncture licenses in Virginia (License: 0121001005) and Maryland (License: U02804). She is also certified in Saam Acupuncture, adding to her diverse skill set. Clinical and Teaching Experience With over 15 years of clinical experience, Yona has adeptly handled a wide range of health conditions, drawing from her rich background in both Chinese and Korean traditional medicine. She has worked in various medical settings, including the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Henan University in China and Shalom Hospital & SeMyung Clinic in Korea. Her contributions extend beyond clinical practice; she has been actively involved with the NCCAOM Examination Content Development Committees for Chinese Herbology. In addition to her clinical work, Yona is passionate about education and serves as a member of the Clinical Faculty serving as a Professor at Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. Her teaching focuses on integrating traditional practices with contemporary medical knowledge, preparing the next generation of practitioners. Specialized Expertise Yona's expertise includes Korean-style facial rejuvenation acupuncture, a specialty she honed in Korea.
